Women's Golf Has Strong Showing to Finish Fall

AUGUSTA, Mich. -- The Wayne State University women's golf program performed well at the Davenport Panther Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. The Warriors finished second with a 609 (310, 299). WSU's round of 299 was the lowest of the day among the nine-team field.

The 36-hole event was played at the future site of the GLIAC Championships, Stonehedge North (Par 72 / 5,829 Yards).

LEADING THE WAY
Ferris State won the team trophy with a 605 (302, 303), while Lauren Gervais of Davenport and Mandy Ehrlich from Saginaw Valley State tied for medalist honors with matching 147s.

TEAM RESULTS
Behind FSU and WSU was SVSU (620), Davenport (626) and Northern Michigan (645).

WSU RESULTS
Sabel Imesch (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich. / Grosse Pointe South) and Avery Howard (Muskegon, Mich. / Reeths-Puffer) both tied-for-third with scores of 149. Imesch tallied rounds of 75 and 74, while Howard paired a 78 and a 71.

Beca Vestman (Madrid, Spain) carded a 155 (80, 75) and tied-for-eighth.

Logan Potts (Norton Shores, Mich. / Mona Shores) tied-for-11th with a 156 (77, 79) and Natalie Groom (Orangevale, Calif. / El Camino Fundamental) totaled a 171 (91, 80).

Orianna Bylsma (Montague, Mich.) competed as an individual and also posted a 171 (93, 78).
