Ransom Allen Earns GLIAC Cross Country Honors

This is Allen's first weekly award this season.

DETROIT -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced its weekly awards following week eight of the 2022 cross country season and Wayne State redshirt junior Ransom Allen (Ithaca, Mich.) was named GLIAC Men's Athlete of the Week.

Allen was selected GLIAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the first time this season after a strong performance at last Saturday's Warrior Challenge. Allen topped the field by crossing the finish line in 24:53.9. This is the second consecutive season that Allen has won the event and subsequently been honored as GLIAC Athlete of the Week. Furthermore, Allen has finished in the top 10 of every race this season and in the top 25 of every race since the beginning of last season.

Allen and the Warriors will now gear up for the GLIAC Championships on their home course. The meet will take place on Nov. 4 at Willow Metropark with the women's race beginning at 11 AM and the men's race starting at 11:45 AM.
