NEW ORLEANS -- The 2022-23 Wayne State University women's track and field squad received USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) All-Academic Team recognition for recording a 3.61 cumulative grade-point average, which was good for first in the GLIAC and No. 15 nationally. In addition, 10 members of the team received USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.

"One of our program's key goals each year is to finish with the highest GPA that we can as a team," said head coach Grant Lofdahl. "The student-athletes as a group take that pretty seriously and this year, they truly did an outstanding job in the classroom. Finishing the academic year ranked in the top 15 in the country, and with the best cumulative team GPA in the GLIAC, is a fitting end to the past track and field season. We as coaches are very proud of our 10 individual All-Academic recipients and the entire squad."
