Softball Adds Another Pitcher For Class of 2025

DETROIT -- Wayne State University head softball coach Nicole Tines has announced the addition of Montgomery Pepin to the 2024 incoming class.

"We are thrilled to add Montgomery to our 2024 recruiting class," commented Tines.  "Like our other five recruits, she brings great athleticism and will add to the growth of our program."

Previously, Tines, assistant coach Hannah McClounie and graduate assistant coach Gabby Vaughn announced five signees - catcher/outfielder Abby Barnes (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Northview), third baseman/outfielder Katelyn DeWitt (Grand Blanc, Mich.), pitcher/corner infielder Elly Koopman (Hudsonville, Mich.), middle infielder Hunter Near (Coopersville, Mich.), and first baseman/outfielder Morgan Williams (Midland, Mich.).

High School:
  Will be a 2024 graduate of Gladstone High School ... will be a four-year letterwinner for coach Rick Pepin ... earned All-District and All-Region accolades each of her first three seasons ... tossed three no-hitters in 2023 (Menominee, Kingsford, and Marquette) ... helped the Braves reach the 2023 state quarterfinals ... batted .308 as a junior with two home runs and 11 RBI in 14 games ... recorded a .391 on-base percentage ... also smacked two doubles for a .513 slugging percentage ... struck out 48 batters in 38 innings in 2023, while allowing just 20 hits ... also competed in tennis for three years, receiving All-Upper Peninsula First Team Doubles honors ... played summer ball for 906, Turnin 2, and the Michigan Generals.
