AUGUSTA, Mich. -- The Wayne State University women's golf team is in fifth place out of eight squads following round one of the 2024 GLIAC Championships at Stonehedge North Golf Club. The Warriors shot a 313 (+25) on Monday and were paced individually by
Sabel Imesch (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich. / Grosse Pointe South) in a tie-for-third with a 75 (+3).
Round two will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday and the Warriors need to be in the top four to advance to the Medal Match Play Championship taking place later on Saturday. WSU has qualified for match play in each of the four previous instances it's been held.
