ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Four members of the Wayne State University women's track squad competed on Thursday evening at the GVSU Extra Meet.
Junior
Reagan Justice (Canton, Mich. / Salem) clocked in at 16:41.76 in the 5K, which is an NCAA Provisional time and is currently 31st this season in NCAA Division 2. Her time shattered the previous school record (16:52.95) by over 11 seconds set in 2015 by Chelsea Johnson at the Raleigh Relays.
In the steeplechase, redshirt senior
Thailyia Christensen (Flushing, Mich.) finished sixth with a time of 10:39.55, just off her previous season-best of 10:37.86.
Junior
Emily Gordon (Northville, Mich.) placed eighth in the 800m run with a time of 2:13.61.
Redshirt senior
Katherine Ray (Novi, Mich.) finished 17th in the 1500m run crossing the finish line in 4:45.86. That time ranks ninth in school history.
Most of the Warriors will be competing tomorrow (Saturday, April 27) at the Concordia Alumni Legacy Meet. Two throwers -
Kaleigh Flowers and
Peyton Hansen - will be participating in the hammer and javelin, respectively today (April 26).
