AUGUSTA, Mich. -- The Wayne State University women's golf team locked up a top-five finish on Sunday as it tied-for-fourth among a 12-team field at the Davenport Panther Invitational. Playing at Stonehedge North, home of the spring slate's GLIAC Championships, the Warriors carded a two-round score of 618 (+42, 308-310).
Individually,
Claudia Portillo (Madrid, Spain / IES Ortega y Gassett) returned to the top 10 for the second time this fall (first since season-opening event) as she tied-for-seventh out of 72 players. Portillo fired a two-day mark of 152 (+8, 76-76).
