WSU Athletics Partners With Podium X To Support Student-Athletes

DETROIT - The Wayne State University Department of Athletics, a member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Association (GLIAC), recently launched its partnership with Podium X to offer student-athletes career development and personal marketing tools. Podium X changes the way student-athletes prepare and apply for jobs and internships, as well as market themselves for NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) prospects.

"Podium X will serve as an incredible complement to our Student-Athlete Support Services and to our student-athlete development programming. We love how Podium X's purpose aligns with our mission to help our Warriors excel during their time at WSU and confidently transition to life beyond their time as a student-athlete with the skills and experiences to thrive and positively impact their communities," commented Mads McKenna, WSU Assistant AD / Student-Athlete Support Services.

The Podium X platform takes a fresh approach to the student-athlete experience by offering an online profile that is specially designed for athletes to highlight their unique journey and valuable soft skills often developed through athletics. This Podium Profile serves as an enhanced resume listing business, athletic, leadership, and educational experience, even media clips about their sports careers. Students can create traditional resume PDFs with one click, apply to jobs within the platform or externally with AI assistance to create cover letters, thank you notes, interview prep and resume optimization. With the recent addition of an all-encompassing resume parser, student-athletes can upload resumes to generate Podiums and customize resumes with 20 templates, fonts, colors, column spacing, and more.
