Women's Tennis Concludes WSU Doubles Tournament

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's tennis squad hosted its annual WSU Doubles Tournament in the Doris J. and Donald L. Duchene, Sr. Athletic Facility on Saturday, October 25, to wrap the fall season.

The Green and Gold played host to the University of Findlay, Tiffin University, and Oakland University.

As a team, the Warriors tallied a 9-7 overall ledger, with Martyna Szpakowska (Gdansk, Poland) and Malak Arafat (Alexandria, Egypt) leading the way with a 3-1 record. Arafat and Szpakowska advanced to the semifinals before falling 6-4 to the eventual champion pairing of Valentina Salek and Ivanova Lucero of Findlay.
