GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Wayne State University women's tennis team had multiple student-athletes compete at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional Championships. Members of the Green and Gold tallied a 5-5 mark in singles, while nabbing three wins in doubles play.

Student-athletes of the WSU women's tennis squad will aim to secure an at-large bid to the ITA Cup (October 16-18), which will be hosted in Mount Berry, Ga. The singles and doubles champions from each of the eight regions will receive an automatic bid to the ITA Cup. Four more regional finalists and four regional quarterfinalists will qualify with an at-large selection. The at-large selections are based on the individuals ranking from the previous year, as well as quality of wins.
