DETROIT -- The Wayne State University swimming and diving teams will begin their 2025-26 campaigns at a swimming-only event on Friday and Saturday, the Davenport Invitational at Kentwood Aquatic Center in Kentwood, Mich. For the Warriors' head coach
Sean Peters, this season marks his 29th at the helm of WSU swimming and diving.
"We are excited to kick off the 2025-26 Warrior season at the Davenport Invitational," said Peters. "It is a great opportunity for our programs to get some fast performances out of the gate, and I know the athletes are excited for this opportunity to see what they can do with the work we have been putting in for seven weeks. Looking forward to a fun opportunity to race some strong programs!"
This season, Peters will once again be assisted by
Gloria Martinez Perez (seventh season, fifth as full-time assistant) and Head Diving Coach
Jason Trout (fourth season). Those three will also have a pair of graduate assistant coaches to help as well,
Alli Vassilakos (2022-25) and
Hassan Ezzeddine.
