DETROIT -- The Wayne State University volleyball team is ranked fifth of 10 teams listed in the NCAA's second set of regional rankings released on Wednesday, Nov. 12. The third edition of the rankings will be unveiled on Nov. 19 before the NCAA Selection Show on Nov. 24 at 7:30 p.m. eastern time.

5. Wayne State (17-4, 19-5)

Come Selection Sunday, the top eight teams in each of the country's eight regions will qualify for the NCAA Tournament. For the Midwest Region, three of those eight selections go to the respective conference tournament champions while the other five will be of the at-large variety.
Wayne State last made the NCAA's field of 64 in 2021, the program's first time since 1994, before falling to Michigan Tech in Big Rapids for the quarterfinal round. The Warriors' third of three all-time appearances in the event came in 1987.
The Green and Gold (19-5 overall, 11-3 GLIAC) are set to play their final matches of the regular season, Thursday against Grand Valley State (17-7 overall, 11-3 GLIAC) and Friday vs. Purdue Northwest (13-10 overall, 7-7 GLIAC). Both of those showdowns will begin at 7 p.m. inside The Matthaei Center.
