Ferguson Named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week

DETROIT -- Wayne State University junior guard McKenna Ferguson (Grandville, Mich. / Byron Center) was named GLIAC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office.

Ferguson earns the honor after recording 12 points and two assists during the 77-56 victory at Purdue Northwest (December 2), and notching a career-high 32 points (10-of-12 FG, 4-of-6 3PT, 8-of-9 FT) in the 84-71 win over No. 18-ranked Ferris State (December 6).  She added four steals, three assists, and three rebounds against the Bulldogs.

With the Warriors trailing 48-45 in the third quarter of the contest against FSU, Ferguson tallied seven consecutive points that sparked a 13-6 run for the Warriors to close the period with a 58-54 advantage.

This marks her second Player of the Week distinction of the year, and first Offensive.

The women's hoops team will return on Tuesday, December 9, at Tiffin University in the Gillmor Student Center at 5:30 PM.
