DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's basketball program and 16th-year head coach
Carrie Lohr have announced their 2026-27 schedule. It features 20 GLIAC contests, one home non-conference game, four non-league road games, the DII CCA Tip-Off Classic in Owensboro, Ky., and the Saint Pete Invitational in St. Petersburg, Fla.
"Our 2026-27 schedule is going to be tough," remarked Lohr. "We have some high caliber opponents from all over the country. I am excited to see how we compete."
The Warriors will kick off the season with the DII CCA Tip-Off Classic on Nov. 6-7 in Owensboro, Ky., where they will take on Carson-Newman on Friday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m., followed by Union on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 11:45 a.m.
Following the CCA Tip-Off Classic, the Warriors will go on a four-game road stretch vs. GMAC institutions, traveling to Findlay on Nov. 13 and Northwood on Nov. 15 before facing Hillsdale on Nov. 18 at 5:30 p.m. and Cedarville on Nov. 21 at 1 p.m.
Coming back home, Wayne State will welcome McKendree to the Wayne State Fieldhouse on Nov. 25 at noon for its lone non-conference home game.
The Warriors will begin GLIAC play on their home court on Thursday, Dec. 3 against Grand Valley State at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 5 against Purdue Northwest at 1 p.m.
To conclude the non-conference schedule, WSU will head south for the Saint Pete Invitational in St. Petersburg, Fla. The Warriors will face Truman State on Friday, Dec. 18 at 1 p.m., followed by West Texas A&M on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 1 p.m.
Of WSU's nine current non-conference games, four of the teams qualified for last year's NCAA Tournament in Carson-Newman, Union, Northwood and West Texas A&M. One additional non-conference contest may still be added to the schedule.
Once the calendar flips over to 2027, the Warriors will take on a four-game road trip - Saturday, Jan. 2 at Parkside, Monday, Jan 4. at Roosevelt, Saturday, Jan. 9 at Northern Michigan and Monday, Jan. 11 at Michigan Tech.
Following back-to-back home games, Saturday, Jan. 16 against Ferris State at 1 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 18 versus Davenport at 1 p.m., Wayne State heads back out for four straight. This road series will include Saturday, Jan. 23 at Saginaw Valley State, Monday, Jan. 25 at Lake Superior State, Saturday, Jan. 30 at Purdue Northwest and Monday, Feb. 1 at Grand Valley State.
The Warriors will then return home in Febuary for a six-game homestand which includes Parkside on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 1 p.m., Roosevelt on Monday, Feb. 8 at 5:30 p.m., Lake Superior State on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 1 p.m., Saginaw Valley State on Monday, Feb. 15 at 5:30 p.m., Michigan Tech on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 1 p.m., and Northern Michigan on Monday, Feb. 22 at 5:30 p.m.
The 2026-27 regular-season slate will wrap up with a Thursday, Feb. 25 contest at Davenport, followed by a Saturday, Feb. 27 matchup at Ferris State.
The GLIAC Tournament is scheduled for March 3-7.
