Men's Tennis Prepares for Road Match at UIndy

DETROIT -- The No. 17-ranked Wayne State University Men's tennis squad will hit the road to face the University of Indianapolis on Saturday, February 8, with the first match slated to begin at 3:00 PM.

UIndy entered the spring season as the No. 11-ranked team nationally, and currently hold a 2-0 record ahead of its match with Thomas More University (February 7).  The Greyhounds downed both Tiffin University and Ferris State University.

The two squads saw each other three times during the 2023-24 season, with WSU going 1-2.  In the most recent meeting, the Green and Gold topped UIndy 4-1, with an impressive singles performance from Cedric Drenth (Sulzbach, Germany / Altkönigschule Kronberg) while competing in the No.3 position.  The win last year was the first for WSU against the Greyhounds since the 2011-12 season, falling in six straight matches.

Malik Tabet is in his 13th season at the helm for UIndy, and has led the squad to six Great Lakes Valley Tournament Championships (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2023, 2024) and multiple appearances in the NCAA Tournamnet.
