BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- Ting-Yu Kuo (Taipei, Taiwan / Taipei Municipal Zhong-zheng Senior) of the Wayne State University women's golf team wrapped up her three-day residency at the NCAA Championship finals on Thursday at Boulder Creek Golf Club. Kuo tied-for-41st among the 94 individuals that completed all three rounds and did so with a 218 (+2, 73-73-72).
That 218 is tied with
Claudia Portillo's 218 at Findlay's William Beall Fall Classic on Sept. 30-Oct. 1 for the Warriors' best 54-hole score of the season. It's also deadlocked with
Maisarah Hezri (2023 William Beall Fall Classic) for the second-lowest 54-hole output in school history.
Thursday, Kuo carded nine pars, five birdies, three bogeys, and one double bogey, which led to even par round of 72. That marked her fourth even or sub-par round of the season.
With her final performance in the book for 2024-25, the freshman finished her first collegiate campaign with a 76.64 scoring average (2,146 strokes in 28 rounds), the fifth-lowest single-season average in program history.
Madison Murr of California State University-San Marcos claimed Medalist Honors with a 14-under 202 (69-64-69). Team wise, the eight moving on to the match play portion will be Dallas Baptist (-18), Cal State San Marcos (-15), Flagler (-13), Findlay (-12), Anderson (-10), West Texas A&M (-7), Central Missouri (-2), and Wingate (E).
