After two weeks on the road, the Wayne State football team returns home to host Quincy University.  WSU looks to nab its first win of the 2025 campaign in the team's final contest before GLIAC action.

This year's meeting with the Hawks marks the second time that the squad's have met, and will be the first at Tom Adams Field.  The Green and Gold claimed a 33-7 victory in the first match-up, out-gaining the hosts in total offense, 537-115.

SCOUTING QUINCY
QU holds a 2-1 ledger in 2025 with wins over Concordia-St. Paul (38-7)and Lincoln [Mo.] (24-21).  The Hawks' lone loss (23-21) came at the hands of second-year GLIAC institution, Roosevelt.

At the helm for Quincy is Jason Killday.  The second-year head coach owns an 8-5 mark with the Hawks thus far.  Prior to joining QU's coaching staff, Killday served as the offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach, and recruiting coordinator at Truman State for eight years.

The Hawks' signal caller is Bradyn Little.  The freshman has passed for 695 yards, while completing 74 percent of his attempts (68-of-92).  Little has not thrown an interception in his young collegiate career, while contributing five passing touchdowns.  On the ground, the QB has added three scores on just 12 carries.

Kamrin Cox is the leading receiver for Quincy, hauling in 19 passes for 176 yards.  The 19 catches is tied-for-third in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).  The junior is Quincy's leading rusher as well, toting the ball 49 times for 164 yards and two touchdowns.  Cox has returned three kickoffs for 60 yards.

Aaron Baker and Troy TW Crozier each have seven catches on the season.  Baker has 104 yards and one score, while TW Crozier has 101 yards.

Brock Wiley and Brock Inman lead the way on the defensive side of the ball.  Wiley has 24 tackles (13-11), including 2.5 tackles for loss (one sack) and two pass break-ups.  Inman has a team-best 14 solo tackles along with two tackles for loss (one sack).

Kicker Kiko Moreno handles field goals and PATs for QU.  The graduate student has connected on all 11 extra-point attempts, while putting 2-of-3 field goals through the uprights.  Moreno earned GLVC Special Teams Player of the Week honors after going 3-3 on extra points and nailing a 43-yard go-ahead field goal to close the first half at Lincoln.

Punting for the Hawks is Alex Schattin.  The senior averages 40.6 yards per punt on 14 attempts with three over 50 yards.

ALL-TIME SERIES
This contest will serve as the second meeting between the Warriors and the Hawks and the first on WSU's home turf.  The Green and Gold prevailed in the first meeting with its offense passing for 220 yards,  while adding 327 yards of rushing.

STEADY LINEBACKER PLAY
WSU's three starting linebackers have combined for 67 total tackles and are the Green and Gold's top-three tacklers individually.  Mike linebacker Martell Williams leads the team in tackles with 25 and has recovered one fumble.  Logan McGraw is the squad's will linebacker and has 24 tackles, six of which are for a loss, and has forced two fumbles.  Max Edwards serves as the team's star linebacker and has contributed 18 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss (one sack).

FOURTH QUARTER SURGE
Last week at Wisconsin-La Crosse, Wayne State's offense scored 15 of its 22 points in the final stanza.  In addition, WSU tallied 130 total yards of offense in the fourth quarter, while holding UWL to 90 yards and just one score.  This year, the Green and Gold has scored all but seven of its points in the final 15 minutes of action.  The Warriors have out-scored their opponents 25-21 in the fourth quarter.

HICKMOTT HAULING IN PASSES
Redshirt freshman Drew Hickmott is the leading receiver for the Warriors through three weeks, with 10 catches for 159 yards and a score.  In week one, Hickmott caught three passes for 37 yards and scored the only WSU touchdown in the 34-7 loss to Tiffin.

In the week two contest at Findlay, Hickmott had five receptions for a team-best 78 yards, including a 27-yard catch that put WSU at the UF two-yard line and led to a Wayne State field goal.

The Ortonville, Mich., product tallied two more receptions for 44 yards in the loss at Wisconsin-La Crosse, one of which was a 30-yard reception at UWL's two-yard line.  WSU scored on the ensuing play to take a 7-0 advantage in the second period.

McGRAW LEADING THE WAY
Linebacker Logan McGraw has made an immediate impact in his first season wearing the Green and Gold.  The Wyandotte product filled the stat sheet with 12 tackles (6-6) vs. Tiffin, including 3.5 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles, one of which was a punch-out on the one-yard line that halted a 63-yard drive.

The productivity continued in WSU's games at Findlay and UWL, as McGraw notched seven tackles, including 2.5 for loss in the setback at UF, while adding five tackles in the 31-22 loss at Wisconsin-La Crosse.

His two tackles for loss per game ranks seventh in Division 2, while the six total is tied-for-18th.

FOWLKES MAKING PLAYS
Senior safety Elijah Fowlkes grabbed his first interception of the season, and fifth of his career, at Findlay after picking off UF's Chase Harrison in the third stanza.  The two-year captain added one pass break-up along with six total tackles in the setback.

In the team's next game (at UWL), Fowlkes scorched past everyone on the Eagles' first play from scrimmage, sacking the quarterback and knocking the ball loose.  The fumble would be recovered by Wisconsin-La Crosse at the 19-yard line and resulted in a 12-yard loss.
