DETROIT -- The 2025-26 edition of the Wayne State University men's golf team is ready to begin the season under 25th-year head coach
Mike Horn. The Warriors will compete at Malone's Glenmoor Invitational in Canton, Ohio at Glenmoor Country Club on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 8-9. The 12-team field will play 36 holes on day one before the final 18 on the second day.
"I'm really looking forward to starting the season," said Horn. "We've got a lot of young talent and I'm very excited to see what they can do in competition. We're looking for big things from our experienced players and the sky is the limit for the freshmen and the new players. Not everybody is eligible yet so this won't be our full complement of players, but I think overall it will be a very good test to start the year. Looking for
Andrew Daily and
Josh Lahner to lead the team. Andrew, Josh and
Shawn Sehra are all captains this year and should do a very good job of leading our squad. Looking really forward to seeing what newcomers
Troy Chapman and
Jack Julian can provide on the golf course as well. Congratulations to volleyball and cross country on starting the season very strong for the Warriors. We hope to continue that on the golf course the next couple of days."
