Women's Track Concludes First Day Of Jet's Pizza Invitational

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. -- The Wayne State University women's indoor track and field squad had team members compete in seven events on Friday, including prelims in three of those (60m Hurdles, 60m Dash, and 200m Dash). Finals were contested in the weight throw, long jump, DMR and 5K.

The Warriors had some outstanding performances on day one, including runner-up placings in the 60m dash prelims (Avery Wilson), and long jump (Annabelle Smith). WSU's Distance Medley Relay (DMR) crew placed third just behind Northern Michigan and Oakland University.

Saturday's events include the finals of the 60m Hurdles, 60m Dash and 200m Dash, along with High Jump, Shot Put, Mile, 400m Dash, 800m Run, 3K, and 4x400m Relay.
