The Warriors will compete against Fairmont State and Charleston.

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team will travel to West Virginia to face Fairmont State University on Friday, February 20, and the University of Charleston on Saturday, February 21.

LAST TIME OUT
The Green and Gold posted a 6-1 win over in-region opponent University of Findlay on Saturday, February 14.

WSU swept all three the doubles matches and all-but-one singles match to earn the victory, improving to 2-1 this season.

SCOUTING THE FALCONS
FSU has yet to falter this year, earning wins over Tiffin (4-3), Virginia Wise (5-2), and Ashland (5-2).  The team's top doubles pairing of Bartosz Losiak and Guilherme Pachane has posted a 4-0 ledger, while Pachane owns a 3-1 mark in the No. 1 singles spot, and Losiak is 4-0 in the No. 2 singles position.

Terry Deremer is in his eighth season at the helm for Fairmont State, helping the squad to a 74-41 overall record.  Deremer was tabbed as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II National Coach of the Year after the 2023 spring campaign, in which the Falcons advanced to NCAA Championship Round of 16.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
UC owns a 2-1 record, falling at UIndy 5-0 last week (Feb. 11).  Charleston is the No. 20-ranked squad in the country according to the ITA, with the pairing of Omar Elsamahy and Vincente Garcia viewed as the No. 10-ranked duo nationally.

Alec Foote has been the head coach of the men's squad at Charleston since the 2022-23 season.  In his time, he has guided the Golden Eagles to a 58-14 record and three-consecutive appearances in the NCAA National Tournament.
