Women's Swimming & Diving Completes Final Preliminary Session of NCAA Championships

Three Warriors competed in three events during the opening session on Saturday.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Three members of the Wayne State University women's swimming & diving team competed in the final preliminary session of the 2026 NCAA Championships on Saturday afternoon inside the Deaconess Aquatic Center. They were Elly Belmore (St. Clair Shores, Mich. / Lakeview) in the 200 back, Diana Muccioli (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich. / Grosse Pointe North) in the 1650 free, and Alicia Viaches (East Lansing, Mich. / Haslett) in one-meter diving.

200 back - Did Not Advance
21st - 2:01.85 - Elly Belmore

1650 free - Final Placing TBD After Tonight's Timed Final
9th - 17:09.48 - Diana Muccioli

One-meter diving - Advanced to Consolation Finals
13th - 404.35 - Alicia Viaches

Viaches will compete tonight in the "B" final on the one-meter board. Those finals are slated to begin at 5:30 p.m.
