DETROIT -- The No. 16-ranked Wayne State University men's tennis team is set for a heavy-weight tilt with No. 15-ranked UIndy on Friday and a GLIAC contest with Michigan Tech University on Saturday.  Both matches are scheduled to start at 2:00 PM inside the Duchene Athletic Facility.

LAST TIME OUT
WSU found its stride in the first conference match of the season, besting Davenport 7-0 on the road.

The Green and Gold were able to sweep all three doubles matches and each of the six singles contests.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
UIndy is 8-4 overall and the No. 15-ranked squad in the nation according to the most recent poll from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), with three individuals receiving rankings in singles.  The three are Asier Ayllon Prado (No. 13), Tadeo Gaggiofatto (No. 36), and Vladislav Gorbatenko (No. 70).  On the doubles side, the duo of Gaggiofatto and Zaid Shelbaya are ranked 46th, while the pairing of Ayllon Prado and Mathieu Derache are ranked 48th.

Mark Tabet is in his 14th season at the helm for the Greyhounds, helping the men's squad to a 224-54 ledger that includes 11 NCAA Tournament berths, seven Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) tournament championships, and a pair of NCAA Semi-Final appearances.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
Ahead of its match with Ferris State, MTU is 4-8 overall, with a 0-2 ledger in the GLIAC.

Landon Coates returns for Michigan Tech after being named Honorable Mention All-GLIAC a year ago.  The junior has tallied a 5-7 mark in singles matches this spring, while going 7-5 in doubles.

Mike Andrews is in his first season as the head coach of the Huskies after being the head man at Lake Superior State last season.

ITA RANKINGS UPDATE
The Warriors stay put at No. 16 in the most recent installment of the ITA Poll as a team.  On the singles side, Luis Klaus (Brühl, Germany / Archbishop's St. Ursula gymnasium [TH Köln]) is the only member of the squad to garner a ranking, appearing 39th overall.  Klaus and Harry Forsyth (Wamberal, New South Wales, Australia / The McDonald College [Mississippi College]) are the No. 42-ranked doubles pairing nationally.
