Women's Track & Field Tied-For-Second Heading Into Final Day of GLIAC Championships

McCarty wins javelin; Hufnagel takes second place in heptathlon.

ALLENDALE, Mich. -- The Wayne State University women's outdoor track and field squad is tied-for-second with 38 points after the first full day of the 2026 GLIAC Championships. Grand Valley State leads with 59 points, while the Warriors are tied with Parkside and just ahead of Northern Michigan (35 points) and Saginaw Valley State (30 points) heading into the final day of competition on Friday.

WSU has 13 qualifiers from today's prelims for Friday's finals, including Keneisha Thomas in both hurdle events and Emily Gordon in both the 800m and 1,500m races.
