Giving Day Is This Thursday

DETROIT -- Giving Day for Wayne State University is this Thursday (April 9).

Giving Day is an opportunity for the Wayne State community to come together in support of our student-athletes and the programs that help them succeed.  With more than 400 student-athletes competing across our 19 programs, Wayne State Athletics is committed to excellence in competition, the classroom, and the Detroit community.

Support on Giving Day directly enhances the student-athlete experience, impacting areas such as travel, equipment, nutrition, academic support, and overall program development.  These resources play a critical role in helping our student-athletes perform at a high level while preparing for life beyond their sport.

This year, Giving Day includes several matching gift opportunities, amplifying every dollar raised and allowing supporters to maximize their impact across our programs.

We are also excited to highlight the launch of Women's Soccer, which will begin competition this fall.  Giving Day will mark their first time participating in the Warrior Challenge, providing a unique opportunity for supporters to help build the foundation of a new program from day one.

At Wayne State, we believe this is about more than athletics.  It's about developing leaders who will go on to make an impact in their careers and communities long after their playing days are over.

Whether supporting a specific team or the department, every gift plays a role in shaping the future of Wayne State Athletics.
