Men's Tennis Remains Home to Host Purdue Northwest and Roosevelt

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team will remain home to host Purdue University Northwest on Friday, April 10, before welcoming Roosevelt University on Saturday, April 11.  Both matches are scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM on the campus of Wayne State.

LAST TIME OUT
The Green and Gold split a pair of matches last week, falling 4-2 to #15-UIndy before sweeping Michigan Tech 7-0.

SCOUTING THE PRIDE
PNW holds a 9-7 overall record with a 3-1 mark in conference action.  Of the nine wins, seven have come at home, as Purdue Northwest is just 2-5 when playing on the road.

Samuel Dickson returns for his senior campaign after earning Second Team All-GLIAC recognition a year ago in singles and doubles.  Dickson owns a 4-9 record at the top singles flight, prevailing in his last four matches.

Selenay Harper has been at the helm for PNW since the 2024 spring campaign, leading the squad to a 36-25 including the programs first NCAA Midwest Regional berth last year.

SCOUTING THE LAKERS
Roosevelt has posted a 6-11 ledger ahead of its contest with Ferris State on Friday, including a 1-3 mark in GLIAC play.  

Juan Caicedo occupies the No. 1 singles position for the Lakers, with a 6-6 record this season. In the top doubles slot, he and partner Justus Peters have collected a 4-8 mark.

Dominic DeNardo is in his third year as Roosevelt's head coach, guiding RU to a 24-34 record.

ITA RANKINGS UPDATE
The WSU men's tennis squad is ranked 18th in the most recent iteration of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll.  On the singles side, Luis Klaus (Brühl, Germany / Archbishop's St. Ursula gymnasium [TH Köln]) is the No. 42-ranked player in the nation, while the duo of Klaus and Harry Forsyth (Wamberal, New South Wales, Australia / The McDonald College [Mississippi College]) is viewed as the No. 37-ranked pairing nationally.
