Four Wayne State Men's Golfers Garner All-GLIAC Recognition

Daily became a two-time honoree, while Lahner, Chapman, and Pollack were featured for the first time.

DETROIT -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced its 2025-26 men's golf postseason awards on Thursday morning, with four Wayne State student-athletes recognized for their work during the season.  The quartet of Warriors that received All-GLIAC honors were Andrew Daily (Brighton, Mich.), Josh Lahner (Roselle, Ill. / Lake Park), Troy Chapman (Lexington, Ohio), and Will Pollack (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Forest Hills Northern).   The first three were all Second Team All-GLIAC, while Pollack was on the Honorable Mention Team.

Daily became a two-time honoree, which comes on the heels of being named GLIAC Men's Golfer Freshman of the Year and Honorable Mention All-GLIAC a season ago.  The rest all were on the list released by the conference office for the first time ever.

Daily was arguably the Green and Gold's most consistent presence this past campaign, as the redshirt sophomore not only played in all 11 tournaments and 27 rounds (one of just two Warriors to appear in all 27 rounds), but also put together a squad-best six top-10 finishes.  His best result was a runner-up effort at the Glenmoor Fall Invitational back on September 8-9.  Also of note, Daily carded a 68 (-3) in the third round of the 2026 GLIAC Championships (April 16-17) on his way to a sixth-place effort.  That score of 68 tied a season-low with his second round at the Belterra Classic on March 30-31.  Daily was the only member of the team to shoot under par eight or more times at 11, while also pacing the squad in rounds in the 60's with six total.  His average mark of 72.5 was also lowest of anyone on the roster.  Showing his ultimate steadiness across the entire campaign, Daily's average score in the fall events (72.5) was the exact same as in his spring appearances (72.5).

Lahner, the second WSU workhorse as the only other student-athlete to play in all 27 rounds, put together a strong junior year to net his first All-GLIAC recognition as a member of the Second Team.  Lahner's 2025-26 season was no doubt highlighted by his individual victory at the Pawleys Island Beach Bash held in Pawleys Island, S.C., between March 9 and 10.  It was his first collegiate triumph after his previous best coming into that event was a tie for eighth.  He shot a two-under 142 across two rounds to take down 116 other participants and also help Wayne State to its second team victory of the campaign.  Otherwise, Lahner was as steady as they come with eight top-25 finishes, three top-10 results, and an average score of 73.6 for the season.  He turned up the heat as the campaign went on, as his spring average (72.9) was over a full stroke better than his fall average (74.3).

After not seeing any action in 2024-25 due to being redshirted, Chapman saw plenty of work in 2025-26 on his way to Second Team All-GLIAC.  The redshirt freshman played in all but one round (26) for the Green and Gold.  His reliability with a squad-best nine top-25 finishes, along with five top-10 results, helped WSU the entire season on its way to another NCAA Midwest/Central Super Regional appearance.  Chapman had a penchant for putting forth his best work late in events, as all three of his top rounds -- that being a 67 (-4) at the Findlay Spring Invite (March 23-24), a 68 (-3) at the Motor City Shakedown (September 29-30), and a 69 (-2) at the Doc Spragg Fall Invitational (October 13-14) -- all occurring in the final round of those events.  Chapman's season average score was 73.2 and his best showing was a runner-up finish at the Marshall Masters (October 16), in which he carded an even 71 in the event's sole round.

Last, but not least, Pollack cracked the regular Wayne State lineup as a freshman on his way to being listed on the Honorable Mention Team.  Pollack saw action in 10 of the 11 tournaments for the Warriors, as well as 24 of the 27 rounds.  His season low was a 70 (-1) in the second round of the Folds of Honor Challenge (September 15-17), which was also one of two times the freshman shot under par for any one round.  The other was the second round of the first ever tournament of his collegiate career at the Glenmoor Fall Invitational (September 8-9) where he carded a one-under 71.  Pollack posted a pair of second-place efforts individually, with the first coming at the Motor City Shakedown (September 29-30) via a three-over 219, and the other in the stroke play portion of the Bill Blazer Memorial (April 11-12).  His average round for the 2025-26 season was 74.7.
