NORMAN, Okla. -- Andrew Daily (Brighton, Mich.) of the Wayne State University men's golf team was named a 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).  Then, the Warriors were one of 39 Division II programs to garner the GCAA PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA.  In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.  A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

Daily, who carries a 3.53 career GPA in Finance, was arguably the Green and Gold's most consistent presence this past campaign.  The redshirt sophomore not only played in all 11 tournaments and 27 rounds (one of just two Warriors to appear in all 27 rounds), but also put together a squad-best six top-10 finishes.  His best result was a runner-up effort at the Glenmoor Fall Invitational back on September 8-9.  Also of note, Daily carded a 68 (-3) in the third round of the 2026 GLIAC Championships (April 16-17) on his way to a sixth-place effort.  That score of 68 tied a season-low with his second round at the Belterra Classic on March 30-31.  Daily was the only member of the team to shoot under par eight or more times at 11, while also pacing the squad in rounds in the 60's with six total.  His average mark of 72.5 was also lowest of anyone on the roster.  Showing his ultimate steadiness across the entire campaign, Daily's average score in the fall events (72.5) was the exact same as in his spring appearances (72.5).

209 NCAA Division II athletes from 77 schools earned 2025-26 Cobalt All-America Scholar honors.  22 NCAA Division II schools had at least four recipients, including Catawba (5), Eckerd (5), Miles (5), Rockhurst (5), St. Mary's (TX) (5), and West Florida (5).  Tiffin and UMSL tied for the most recipients from one school in NCAA Division II with six.

Team wise, Wayne State made the "All-Academic" 3.0 cut with a 2025-26 GPA of 3.346.  A GCAA-record 331 schools across six divisions earned a PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award. 155 schools received Presidents Special Recognition for having an average team GPA of 3.5 or above in 2025-26.

Maryland Eastern Shore (NCAA Division I), Virginia State (NCAA Division II), Bowdoin (NCAA Division III), Texas A&M-San Antonio (NAIA), Iowa Western (NJCAA Division I), Kirkwood (NJCAA Division II), and Maryland Eastern Shore (HBCU) were all named 2025-26 GCAA Academic National Champions for finishing with the top GPA in their respective divisions.
