Men's Golf Finishes 12th at NCAA Midwest/Central Super Regional

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Wayne State University men's golf squad completed its 2025-26 campaign with a 12th-place finish out of 20 teams at the NCAA Midwest/Central Super Regional held at Ferris State's Katke Golf Course.  After compiling a team score of 294 on Thursday, and 300 on Friday, the Warriors shot a 296 on Saturday to finish at +26 (890).  The individual medalist was Central Missouri's CJ Phillips at -5 (68-66-77--211).

"We fought really hard today," said head coach Mike Horn.  "It was windy, cold, rainy, and just miserable at times and the boys really gave it their best shot today.  We came up just about 10 shots short and hopefully this is a huge learning experience for all of our Warriors who basically were either freshmen or competing full-time for the first time.  I'm looking forward to the next couple of years as we should be a team to be reckoned with for sure."

Happy birthday to Will Pollack today and finishing 12th was a pretty good showing in a very strong field," added Horn.  "Great round by Josh Lahner today firing a two-under-par 70.  The boys should be very proud of themselves for making it to the NCAA Tournament as freshmen and first timers.  We've got a lot to look forward to.  Go Warriors."
