DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's golf program and 26th-year head coach
Mike Horn have announced their schedule for the fall portion of the 2026-27 campaign. The Warriors are scheduled to play five tournaments, including two in the month of September and three more in October, before flipping the calendar over to 2027 for the spring slate and "Championship" portion of their schedule.
"We are super excited for this coming season," said coach Horn. "Many of the Warriors are playing incredible golf this summer.
Jack Julian,
Josh Lahner and
Andrew Daily have all had outstanding summers. Jack won the 54-hole stroke play at Pheasant Run. Josh just played in the finals of the state match play. Andrew and Jack made the cut at the Michigan Open. A number of our guys qualified for the Michigan Amateur."
"We are super excited for what this season holds and we've got a number of up-and-coming players that are ready to breakthrough including
Grant Ofield and
Will Pollack," added Horn. "
Ethan Mukhtar,
Luke Maher and
Aidan Treharne have had some really nice highlights, including a two under par by Aidan last week to qualify for the GAM Championship. Luke actually lead the Michigan Amateur halfway through the first day. And
Shawn Sehra hopefully is coming back for his sixth year, which we are very excited about. Then newcomer Jacob Palomares from California will be a great edition and he has pretty stiff competition as he's coming in as a freshman."
The campaign kicks off on Sept. 14-15 for the Midwest/Central Regional Preview, hosted by Grand Valley State at the Lakers' The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, Mich. The ninth month of the year will also feature Ashland's Crossroads Cup on Sept. 28-29 at Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.
Moving into October, WSU will be at Albion's Marshall Masters on Oct. 9-10 at Marshall Country Club in Marshall, Mich. Then comes Findlay's Doc Spragg Fall Invitational on Oct. 12-13 at Findlay Country Club in Findlay Ohio. Wayne State will round out its fall action by hosting the Motor City Shakedown on Oct. 19-20 at West Shore Golf Club in Gross Ile, Mich.
