WSU holds the unique distinction with one of the top 25 Defining Moments in the first 100 years of the NCAA.  In January 2006, the NCAA recognized WSU diver Dacia Schileru's March 15, 1973, achievement as the first female to compete in an NCAA championship as one of the benchmark events in the history of intercollegiate athletics.  Schileru's pioneering NCAA efforts are recognized in an exhibit at the NCAA Hall of Champions, located in Indianapolis, Ind.
