LADY MINER CLASSIC STORYLINES

Wayne State will travel to Rolla, Mo. to take part in the Lady Miner Classic with hopes of picking up its first wins of the season as the Warriors are set to take on Arkansas Tech on Friday and tournament host Missouri S&T on Saturday.

ON THE BENCH
Gloria Bradley is in her 10th season at WSU and 17th season overall. Bradley's record at Wayne State is 108-138 while her career record stands at 222-207.

Arkansas Tech is led by Dave Wilbers. The 2009-10 season will be Wilbers' third as the head coach of the Golden Suns.Arkansas Tech has a 46-15 record under Wilbers.

Alan Eads will be starting his eighth season as the head man of a Lady Miners squad that has been entrenched in the upper half of the GLVC for the past several seasons. Eads record at Missouri S&T is 89-102.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Friday's showdown between Wayne State and Arkansas Tech will be the first meeting between the two schools.
   
Missouri S&T holds a 1-0 advantage over the Warriors dating back to the 2006-07 season when the Lady Miners defeated WSU, 70-54, at the UMR Classic.

SOUTHERN INDIANA RECAP
Wayne State suffered a tough loss to start the 2009-10 season this past Sunday (11/15) when Southern Indiana downed the Warriors 69-68 in a back-and-forth game that featured seven lead changes and nine ties.

Junior guard Chelsea Kouri led Wayne State in scoring with 15 points while freshman forward Chelsea Davis had a game-high eight rebounds. Freshman forward Deanna Crumpton added 10 points.

As a team, WSU shot 50 percent (26-52) from the field.

BREAKING OUT
Sophomore guard Felicia Thomas made an immediate impact in her first start for the Warriors. Thomas set career-highs in points (13), assists (5), field goals made (5) while also matching career bests in steals (2), three-pointers (2) and
blocks (1).

FAST BREAKS
-WSU is 8-12 in games played on back-to-back days under Bradley.
-With four steals vs. Southern Indiana, senior guard Brooke Bowers moved into 15th place in WSU history with 142 career steals.
-Six freshmen made their official collegiate debuts vs. Southern Indiana.
-Bowers has played at least 20 minutes in 46 of her last 55 games dating back to her sophomore season.
-Wayne State's 50 percent shooting  vs. USI was its best game since Wayne State shot 55.2 percent (32-58) from the floor on 12/31/08 vs. Edinboro.
-Kouri's 15-point day vs. the Screaming Eagles was her fourth career game scoring in double digits.

SCOUTING ARKANSAS TECH

The Golden Suns head into the Lady Miner Classic with a 1-0 record after defeating Central Baptist 108-51 on Monday (11/16). Four players scored in double figures for Arkansas Tech as junior guard Jenny Vining led the way with 16 points and eight assists.

Arkansas Tech was predicted to finish fourth in the West Division of the GSC.

SCOUTING MISSOURI S&T
Missouri S&T will be playing its first games of the season this weekend after being tabbed to finish second in the West Division of the GLVC. Senior guard Jasmine Bell is the Lady Miners' top returning scorer after a junior season in which she averaged 9.8 ppg.
