* GAMES 6-7 STORYLINES
Wayne State extended its winning streak to four games with a pair of wins in the Upper Peninsula last week. Dating back to last season, the Warriors are 8-2 in their last 10 contests.
WSU will play its final conference road game for nearly a month on Wednesday at Northwood. Wayne State's next away GLIAC contest will be Jan. 7 at Findlay.
The Warriors will play their last non-league game of the season on Saturday at Lewis.
* MICHIGAN TECH RECAP
The Warriors rallied from a 10-point deficit at halftime for a 61-58 road win at MTU.
Wayne State started the second half on a 7-0 run with
Bryan Smothers scoring every point.
A 5-2 WSU run highlighted by
Dale Brundidge scoring all five points included
a three-pointer to knot the game at 45 with 9:18 remaining.
An MTU lay-up gave the hosts a 47-45 lead, but WSU responded with a 6-0 run, and the Warriors would never trail again. #
Jerry Oden had back-to-back buckets from the paint and Bryan Wright# followed with a jumper that he banked in just before the shot clock expired.
WSU's lead remained between one and four until another Huskie lay-up tied the game at 57 with 88 seconds left.

Bryan Edwards put WSU in front for good at 59-57 with 66 seconds remaining. MTU's Matt Esters split a pair from the foul line then three Huskie fouls in 11 seconds put Edwards on the line were he sank both ends of a one-and-one for a 61-58 advantage with 29 seconds left.
* NORTHERN MICHIGAN RECAP
WSU only trailed 36-31 at intermission despite being held to 31 percent (9-of-29) from the floor compared to 45 percent (13-of-29) for NMU.
Wayne State took its first lead of the game, 38-37, at the 18:26 mark of the second half.
Ian Larkin scored from inside off a feed from Edwards, who had grabbed an offensive rebound following a missed free throw.
WSU had a five-point lead at 53-48 before a pair of NMU foul shots. A jumper by Oden and a free throw a minute later gave the Warriors a 59-54 advantage with 3:39 left.
Oden responded to a Jared Benson lay-up with a jumper to maintain the five-point lead (61-56). Wright made all six foul shots in the final 50 seconds to secure the win.
* ON THE BENCH
David Greer, just the ninth head coach in school history, is in his ninth season at WSU with a record of 117-109. He is the fifth-longest tenured coach in 92 seasons of WSU basketball.
Northwood's Bob Taylor has a 160-170 mark in his 13th year with the Timberwolves.
Scott Trost is in fourth season at Lewis and has compiled a mark of 56-38.
* SCOUTING NORTHWOOD
After winning its two non-conference games, Northwood went 1-1 on the U.P. trip last week.
Dorian Pierece led the Timberwolves in scoring in both contests totaling 45 points to earn GLIAC South Division Player of the Week honors.
Pierece is averaging 18 points and nearly six assists per contest.
Lionel Sullivan is averaging 17.8 ppg and nine rebounds per game, while making 55.6 percent (25-of-45) of his shots from the floor.
Chris Johnson is also averaging in double figures at 12.3 ppg, and is second in rebounding with 31 boards.
* SCOUTING LEWIS
The Flyers went 4-1 in non-league play and began GLVC competition with a loss (73-62 to Missouri-St. Louis) and a win (86-59 over Maryville).
Dennis Thomas is averaging a team-best 15.4 points per game, over three assists per contest and nearly two steals per match.
Matt Toth (11.9 ppg) and Marty Strus (10.1) are also averaging in double digits. Strus also has a team-high 53 rebounds and 18 blocked shots.
Chris McClellan has a squad-best 26 assists, while shooting over 90 percent (19-of-21) from the foul line.
All five starters for LU are averaging over 27 minutes per game.
