Tiffin, Ohio--The Wayne State University men's basketball team (9-8 overall, 7-6 GLIAC) snapped a four-game road losing streak with a
73-58 triumph at Tiffin University (1-17 overall, 0-13 GLIAC) Thursday evening.
The Warriors started strong building up a 19-7 lead in the first 11 minutes behind a balanced scoring attack. The host Dragons responded with a 20-8 run over the final nine minutes to pull even at halftime (27-27). Junior
Ike Udanoh (Detroit, Mich./Warren Woods Tower) scored six of WSU's final eight points on back-to-back conventional three-point plays. Senior
Larry Edwards (Benton Harbor, Mich.) completed WSU's first half scoring with a hoop.
Wayne State began the second half with a 12-4 run to open an eight-point advantage (39-31). Senior
Bryan Wright (Warren, Ohio/Harding) scored five points during the run with Udanoh adding four points.
The Warriors increased their lead over the next 11 minutes by outscoring the Dragons 20-13 for a 59-44 lead with 3:37 left.
WSU's final 15 points came from the foul line as the Warriors connected on 19-of-22 from the charity stripe in the second half.
Udanoh led four Warriors in double figures with 18 points. He also grabbed a team-best eight rebounds.

Jerry Oden (Detroit, Mich./Cass Tech) contributed 16 points with Wright adding 15 and junior
Bryan Smothers (Pontiac, Mich./Northern) finishing with 11 points.
DeAngelo Jordan tallied a game-high 20 points off the Dragon bench.
Wayne State continues its road trip with a 3 p.m. tip-off on Saturday at Ashland.
