* GAME STORYLINES
The Wayne State women's basketball team will be looking to win its first conference games of the season in this weekend's intradivision contests against Findlay and Hillsdale, the top two teams in the GLIAC South Division.

The pair of games will be the first away contests in nearly a month for the Warriors.

* ON THE BENCH
Gloria Bradley is in her 10th season at WSU and 17th season overall. Bradley's record at Wayne State is 110-146 while her career record stands at 224-215.

In her time at Wayne State, Bradley is 12-6 against Findlay and 5-15 vs. Hillsdale.

Kate Cummings is 38-53 in four years at Findlay. The Oilers' record has improved each season under Cummings.

In her eighth season at Hillsdale, Claudette Charney has guided the Chargers to a record of 141-66 and two NCAA Tournament appearances.

* SERIES NOTES
After losing eight of the first nine games in the series history against Findlay, Wayne State has rebounded to win 12 of the last 17 meetings by an average of 11.9 points a game. However, WSU's all-time record in games at Findlay is just 4-9.

Victories over Hillsdale have been tough to come by for the Warriors recently. Since 1998, WSU is 6-20 against the Chargers with only one of those wins coming at Hillsdale.

*WSU NOTES
-Wayne State ranks first in the GLIAC in offensive rebounding (15.5 orpg) and fourth in steals (9.5 spg).

-WSU is 42nd out of 300 teams in Division II in turnovers per game with 16.7.

-If she continues on her current pace, senior guard Brooke Bowers would score her 1,000 point at home on Jan. 14 vs. Saginaw Valley.

-Bowers' 38.6 percent three-point shooting is 78th best in the country.

-After missing a combined 14 games due to injury, Freshman forward Latosha Beasley and freshman guard Tyler Hardy are both healthy and producing. Beasley had 10 rebounds vs. Madonna and Hardy scored 10 points vs. Northwood.

-The Warriors attempt 62.6 shots a game, the second most in the GLIAC behind Hillsdale's 66.2.

* SCOUTING FINDLAY

Findlay enters Thursday's game winners of three straight and tied with Hillsdale for first place in the GLIAC South Division. The Oilers are outscoring their opponents by 17.8 points per game.

Not only are the Oilers leading the GLIAC in scoring offense (74.4 ppg), they are also holding opponents to a 35.8 shooting percentage on defense.

Sophomore guard Laura Bardall is second in the GLIAC in scoring at 17.0 ppg.

* SCOUTING HILLSDALE
After losing its first four games to begin the season, Hillsdale has regrouped and won four of six GLIAC contests to move into a tie with Findlay for first place in the GLIAC South Division.

The Chargers are led by the senior backcourt duo of Janay Miller and Brooke Knight. Combined, the pair is averaging 27.8 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 7.8 apg and shooting 42.1 percent from the field.

* NORTHWOOD RECAP

The Wayne State women's basketball team trimmed a 17-point second half deficit to just seven points, but it could not complete the comeback as Northwood hung on to defeat the Warriors 68-59. Wayne State forced 25 turnovers.

Junior guard Chelsea Kouri matched a season-high with 15 points on 5-10 shooting while also collecting five rebounds. Hardy was 4-6 from the field, scoring 10 points and freshman forward Deanna Crumpton had four steals.

NU jumped out to a 17 point lead after WSU shot just 3-13 to begin the second half.
WSU would go on a 22-12 run to pull to within seven points (60-53) with 2:31 to play before Northwood was able to make six foul shots in the closing minutes to hold onto the win.
