The Wayne State University men's basketball team (7-4 overall, 5-2 GLIAC) had its three-game winning streak snapped by University of Findlay (9-3 overall, 5-2 GLIAC) Thursday evening as the Oilers posted an 88-65 home court victory.  It was UF's 82nd consecutive regular-season triumph at Croy Gymnasium.

UF scored the first six points of the game as the Warriors were held scoreless for the first three minutes until a jumper by junior Ike Udanoh (Detroit, Mich./Warren Woods Tower) made it a 6-2 contest.

Udanoh would also score on WSU's next two possessions, but Marcus Parker and Tyler Sparks each drained a three-pointer during that span giving the hosts a 12-6 advantage.

Wayne State would get within six points just once more, 16-10, after a lay-up by senior Bryan Edwards (Ypsilanti, Mich./Lincoln) at the 11 minute mark of the opening half.

A 13-4 Oiler run gave the defending national champions their largest lead of the first 20 minutes.

WSU trailed 40-27 at intermission despite shooting 48 percent (12-of-25) from the floor.

Findlay outscored the Warriors 15-4 to start the second half and Wayne State was not able to get closer than 16 the rest of the way.

Udanoh led WSU with 17 points and eight rebounds but had five turnovers. Freshman Mike Hollingsworth (Utica, Mich.) scored a career-high 10 points in 22 minutes.

Sparks and Jason Wehri each scored 17 points for the Oilers who forced WSU into 19 turnovers.

The Warriors entered the contest leading the nation in turnover margin (+8.3), but the guests finished minus 6 (19-13).

Wayne State visits Hillsdale for a 3 p.m. tip-off on Saturday before returning to the Matthaei for a four-game home stand.
