ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving team fell,
196-95, in a dual meet at Oakland University on Saturday afternoon.
Kayla Scott (Rochester, Mich./Adams) earned an NCAA “B” qualifying time, finishing second in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.83). She also swam the second portion of the third-place 200 medley relay (1:49.97) with
Sara Franklin (Caro, Mich.),
Alex Malfroid (Shelby Twp., Mich./Eisenhower), and Christina Busquets Garcia (Banyoles, Spain).
Franklin finished first in the 100 backstroke and improved her prior NCAA “B” cut (57.71). She also placed third in the 100 freestyle (55.56).
Kelsey Dischler (Macomb, Mich./Henry Ford II) was the runner-up in the 1000 freestyle (10:50.54), as were Malfroid in the 200 backstroke (2:14.92) and
Catherine Leix (Flint, Mich./Southwestern) in the 500 free (5:14.22).
Wayne State will host Calvin in a dual meet at the Matthaei on Nov. 12 at 6:00 p.m.
