Findlay, Ohio – Despite shooting 48.2 percent from the floor, the Wayne State women's basketball team dropped its fourth straight contest, 66-62, at Findlay.

Sophomore Phaebre Colbert (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Northern) turned in career-high totals in points (14) and rebounds (12), while junior Felicia Thomas (Kalamazoo, Mich./Central) had 11 points and five rebounds.

A week after shooting a season-low 25.4 percent at home versus the Oilers, the Warriors turned it around by nearly doubling their effort on Saturday.

WSU shot 55.2 percent in the first half to take a 35-31 halftime lead.

However, the Warriors saw their lead dwindle slowly in the second half as they shot 40.7 percent and were outscored 35-27.

Wayne State increased its four-point halftime lead to seven, 42-35, on a Paige Sickmiller (Romeo, Mich./Romeo) three-point bucket with 16:23 remaining.

After trading buckets the next couple possessions, Findlay took control, using a 27-10 run over the next 10:41 to take a 64-54 lead with 5:04 left.

Fortunately, the Warriors did not go down without a fight as they held Findlay to one-point, while tallying eight over the next 3:40 to trail by three, 65-62, with 1:24 to go.

Following a Kaleigh Kenny miss for the home team, Chelsea Davis (Canton, Mich./Plymouth Salem) grabbed the rebound and the Warriors called a 30-second timeout. Looking to tie it up, Sickmiller's shot neglected to go in and the Oilers went on to seal the game.

WSU began the first 10 minutes of the game on a 22-9 run and extended its lead to 29-12 with 7:38 left in the first half. Seven different Warriors scored during the effort.

From there, the rest of the half would belong to Findlay as it closed on a 19-6 run.

Wayne State is back in action this Thursday when it hosts Tiffin at 8:00 p.m. The Warriors won the teams' first meeting, 65-48.
