ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Wayne State University women's swimming team secured a
172-140 victory in the second day of a GLIAC dual meet at Lewis University.
Wayne State clinched the win after four events Saturday, beginning with a first-place finish for
Sara Franklin,
Ana Gonzalez Pena,
Agata Zalewska and
Ashley Corriveau in the 400 medley relay (4:07.46).
Catherine Leix won the 1650 freestyle (18:16.42), Zalewska finished first in the 100 butterfly (1:01.95), and
Carol Azambuja and Corriveau (24.53) went one-two in the 50 freestyle.
Azambuja also achieved an NCAA “B” cut with her time of 24.34 in the 50 free.
Over the two-day meet, the Warriors set a total of three Lewis University pool records.
Wayne State has two upcoming home events, a dual meet Jan. 28 against Findlay and a diving invitational the following day.
