* WEEK IN REVIEW

The Warriors, with a reduced roster, persevered and recorded a 72-55 road win at Ohio Dominican.

WSU dressed eight players for the contest but unselfish play resulted in 11 assists in 21 made field goals.

WSU shot 44.7 percent (21-of-47) from the floor, including 52.6 percent in the second half, and a season-best 85.7 percent (24-of-28) from the foul line.

The Warriors also held the Panthers to 16 made field goals, which was the lowest output of any WSU opponent this season.

The Warriors dropped a tough decision, 50-48, at home to Tiffin on Jan 20.

Deanna Crumpton's game-tying lay-up with three seconds left neglected to fall and time ran out on WSU.

Moments before Crumpton's near-make, WSU had two chances to take the lead with the game tied at 48 and 35 seconds left on the clock, but back-to-back hiccups set up Mandy Jaeb's game-winning free throws with 22 seconds left.

Wayne State led the major statistical categories, besting the Dragons in field goal percentage, rebounds and assists. However, turnovers proved to be the difference maker for the Warriors as they finished with 23 to Tiffin's 12.

* SCOUTING ASHLAND

After Wayne State handed Ashland its first defeat of the season on a last second tip-in from Amelia Davis, the Eagles have posted a record of 5-4, but are currently riding a three-game win streak.

In its last game, AU pulled out a 83-75 overtime win at Lake Superior State. Jena Stutzman scored a game-high 29 points and Daiva Gerbec had 13 points and collected a game-high 19 rebounds.

Stutzman enters Thursday's contest as the second-leading scorer in the GLIAC at 17.4 ppg. Gerbec's 14.4 ppg is 12th and her 10.7 rpg leads the conference.

The duo has led the Eagles in scoring or rebounding in every game this season.

* SCOUTING LAKE ERIE

Lake Erie triumphed in its first-ever meeting with Wayne State, 78-72, on Dec. 2, 2010, but has not won since.

The Storm enter Thursday's game vs. Findlay on an 11-game losing streak. Last time out, LEC suffered a 68-65 loss at Saginaw Valley.

Stephanie Rogers had a game-high 24 points and eight rebounds.

Rogers has been the Storm's leading scorer in 10 of their 15 games. She is averaging 15.1 ppg, which is seventh-most in the GLIAC.
