ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving team lost its second dual meet of the year,
174-121, at Oakland University on Saturday afternoon.
Carol Azambuja (Sao Paulo, Brazil) came away with two NCAA “B” qualifiers, winning both the 100 (51.53) and 200 (1:52.72) freestyle swims.
Other earning “B” cuts included
Kayla Scott (Rochester, Mich./Adams), whose second-place time in the 100 breaststroke came in just .02 seconds under the standard (1:06.66), and
Brittany Wilkins (Dearborn, Mich./Edsel Ford), who placed second in the 500 freestyle (5:10.89). Wilkins also took second in the 1000 free (10:40.91).
Kei Cze Prentis (Shelby Twp., Mich./Utica Eisenhower) won the 200 backstroke (2:09.83) and
Cristina Busquets Garcia (Banyoles, Spain), who also led off the second-place 200 medley relay, won the 100 backstroke (59.77).
Ashley Corriveau (Metamora, Mich./Lapeer East) took second and third, respectively, in the 50 free (24.55) and the 100 free (53.48).
Wayne State's next dual meet is Friday night at Kalamazoo College.
