Munro's Triple-Double Paces WSU To 74-56 Win

Warriors improve to 3-0 all-time against Ohio Dominican

DETROIT - Stefani Munro (Harrison Twp., Mich./Mount Clemens) finished with a triple-double as the Wayne State University women's basketball team (6-3, 2-2 GLIAC) remained unbeaten at home following a 74-56 victory over Ohio Dominican University (5-4, 1-4 GLIAC) on Thursday night at the Matthaei.

One of four Warriors to score in double figures, Munro totaled 11 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists, achieving career-highs in the latter two figures.  She has reached double-digit point totals in six straight games.

Phaebre Colbert (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Northern) tied her career-best with 25 points, shooting 12-for-16 from the field.  Juanita Cochran (Saginaw, Mich./Arthur Hill) had 14 points, as she and Colbert narrowly missed double-doubles with nine rebounds apiece.

Cochran also contributed four blocks as the Warriors improved to 5-0 on their home court this season.

A three-pointer by Katy Rasor, who led ODU with 15 points, gave the Panthers its only lead of the contest at 5-4 nearly four minutes into the game.  Wayne State went on a seven-point run and led by as many as 15 in the opening 20 minutes.

A 10-point Panther run which started near the end of the half and carried through to the second made it a 34-29 score with 18:38 to play.  The Warriors shortly regained their double-digit advantage and never led by fewer than five points the rest of the way.

Wayne State (49.2) nearly doubled ODU's shooting percentage (26.3) despite an 0-for-8 showing from three-point range.

Paige Sickmiller (Romeo, Mich.) finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists.  Deanna Crumpton (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood) chipped in seven points and six rebounds.

Wayne State will host Tiffin at the Matthaei on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. ET.
