There were eight lead changes and four tied scores in the opening 20 minutes with WSU holding its largest lead (9-6) following a jumper by Colbert at the 15:51 mark.

Wayne State again held the lead at 11-10 and 13-12, before an 11-6 run by Northwood gave the host its largest lead before intermission (24-18).

The Warriors shot just 32 percent (8-of-25) in the first half, but trailed only 26-23. Colbert and Bouman each had six points in the opening 20 minutes.

WSU took its first lead of the second half, at 32-31, following a conventional three-point play by Davis.

Wayne State snapped a 36-36 tie on a triple by Crumpton at the 13:53 mark.
