* GAME STORYLINES

The Wayne State women's basketball team enters its final two home games of the season a game behind Tiffin for the eighth spot in the GLIAC tournament.

The Warriors host Lake Superior tonight at 8:00 p.m. and Hillsdale on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.

* ON THE BENCH

Gloria Bradley, the longest tenured women's basketball coach in Wayne State history, is in her 11th season at WSU and her 18th as a head coach. Bradley's record at WSU is 124-172, while her career mark stands at 238-241.

Jamie Pewinski, in her fifth season at Lake Superior, has compiled a 76-59 record.

Claudette Charney, in her ninth season at Hillsdale and 27th as a head coach, has gone 167-80 at HC and 475-267 overall.

* SERIES NOTES

Wayne State looks to win two straight over Lake Superior for the first time since 1989-90.

The Warriors have not defeated Hillsdale in the past five tries, last beating the Chargers in the GLIAC tournament on Mar. 1, 2008, 67-64.

* WARRIOR NOTEBOOK

-- Sophomore forward Phaebre Colbert is averaging 14.5 ppg and 6.4 rpg in her last 11 games. Colbert has hit double figures in nine of the last 11 games after not reaching double digits the first 13 contests. She was named GLIAC South Division Player of the Week (2/21) after averaging 20 points and six rebounds last week.

-- Sophomore Paige Sickmiller has scored in double figures in seven of the last nine games, tallying nine points in the other two contests. Sickmiller is averaging 14.0 ppg and 6.1 rpg during the span.

-- Since entering the starting lineup at Ohio Dominican (1/22), freshman Lena Thomas has tallied at least four assists six times and accumulated 73.6 percent of her 53 assists.

-- Sophomore Deanna Crumpton is leading the team in scoring with 9.0 ppg and is tied for second in rebounding (4.6 rpg).

-- Senior Chelsea Kouri has scored in double figures three times since returning from injury against Findlay (1/8).

-- Sophomore Amelia Davis has scored at least seven points in five of the last eight games, and has collected at least six rebounds in four of the last seven contests.

-- Freshman center Ali Bouman has shot 59.5 percent (25-42) from the floor over the last nine games, while averaging 6.1 ppg, 2.6 rpg and 1.1 bpg.

-- Freshman center Lauryn Robinson has collected at least one rebound in 16 of her 20 games played.

* LAST TIME OUT

Wayne State tasted its first victory at Ferris State since Jan. 4, 2003, defeating the Bulldogs, 83-74, last Thursday night (2/17).

Colbert led all scorers with a career-high 25 points and eight rebounds, while Sickmiller added 24 points, tying a career-best, and had seven boards. Crumpton finished with 17 points and seven rebounds.

After battling to a tie (33-33) in the first half, the Warriors scored 50 second-half points, the most WSU has totaled for a half this season.

The Warriors had 21st-ranked Grand Valley State University on the ropes, but were outdone, 62-58, in overtime on Saturday (2/19).

In the extra frame, the Lakers outscored the Warriors 6-2 in the first 2:07, but WSU posted the next four points on pairs of free throws from Colbert and Kouri, respectively. After trading baskets over the next 1:32, Thomas connected on a jumper to put the Warriors down two (60-58) with nine seconds remaining, but WSU never touched the ball again. Colbert had a team-high 15 points.

* SCOUTING LAKE SUPERIOR

Lake Superior has lost three of its last four games entering Thursday's game with Wayne State.

As a team, the Lakers rank in the top five in 13 different GLIAC statistical categories.

Lake Superior's leading point scorers, Emily Joseph (14.7 ppg) and Maria Blazejewski (13.6 ppg) rank 10th and 12th in GLIAC scoring, respectively.

Cassy Schemberger is sixth in rebounding (7.9 rpg), while also grabbing the league's second-most offensive boards (3.3 rpg).

Joseph sits fourth in assists per game (4.4) and ranks fifth in steals per game (1.9).

* SCOUTING HILLSDALE

Hillsdale enters Thursday's contest at Findlay having won three straight games and four of its last five.

HC defeated Wayne State earlier this season at home, 72-61, on Jan. 13.

The Chargers place in the top five in seven different conference statistical catergories.

Chelsea Harrison leads HC in scoring with 16.5 ppg, which is second in the GLIAC. Laura Barczak is averaging 13.4 ppg, second-most on the team and 13th-best in the league. Barczak leads the team in rebounding (7.4 rpg) and ranks eighth in the conference.
