CONFERENCE OPENERS
The Warriors are 0-1 in GLIAC openers under head coach
Carrie Lohr. WSU lost 81-71 at Lake Erie in its conference opener in 2011-12. Overall, Wayne State has lost its last six conference openers with its last victory being a 66-62 win at Gannon on Dec. 1, 2005.
SERIES HISTORY
Wayne State is 5-7 all-time in its series against Tiffin. The Warriors have lost their last three contests against the Dragons and are 3-3 on the road at Tiffin.
WSU has won all four matchups with Ohio Dominican, including both contests on the road. The Warriors defeated the Dragons twice in 2011-12, winning 74-56 at home on Dec. 15, 2011 and 74-70 at ODU on Jan. 21, 2012.
ON THE BENCH
Carrie Lohr is in her second season as head coach of the WSU women's basketball program. Lohr is 12-16 in her Warrior coaching career.
Pam Oswald has a 64-75 record in her sixth season at the helm of the Tiffin women's basketball program.
Lynsey Warren is 3-0 in her first season as head coach at Ohio Dominican.
SCOUTING TIFFIN
The Dragons are playing in their first home game following two road games and a neutral contest to begin their season. Tiffin has won its last two games.
TU is led in scoring by a trio of seniors in guard Karli Mast (14.7 points per game), Jessica Harris (12.7 ppg) and Melissa Gilliland (9.7 ppg).
Harris leads the team in rebounding at 11.7 rebounds per game. Mast leads Tiffin in assists with 10. All five of Tiffin's starters are returners and four of the five are seniors.
Tiffin has been effective from the free throw line sinking 49-of-58 shots (84.5 percent) through three games. The Dragons are also shooting just over 40 percent (40.3) from the floor.
SCOUTING OHIO DOMINICAN
The Panthers (3-0) have won two or their three games by two points or less and ODU held the opposition to 47 points or less its first two contests of 2012-13.
Ohio Dominican is holding its opponents to 32.9 percent shooting from the field in its first three games.
ODU is led in scoring by junior forward Katelyn Stuckey, who averages 17.3 points per game while shooting 52.9 percent from the floor. Sophomore guard Kacee Hockenberry also averages in double figures for ODU at 13.3 ppg and leads the squad in assists with eight.
Freshman forward Melissa Scherpenberg leads the Panthers in rebounding (7.0 rpg) and blocks (2.0 bpg).
There are no seniors on Ohio Dominican's roster, which features 10 freshmen or sophomores.
GAME 2 RECAP
WSU lost another thriller, losing its second straight contest by four points or less in a 77-74 defeat at No. 15 Edinboro on Nov. 24.
The Warriors trailed by 10 points at halftime, but rallied to tie the game 67-67 with 4:55 remaining on a
Juanita Cochran lay-up.
After Edinboro regained its lead, WSU again tied the contest 71-71 with 3:06 left in the game on a pair of
Talisha Bridges' free throws. Edinboro proceeded to score six of the final nine points for the win.
Senior guard
Paige Sickmiller tallied a game-high 22 points and nine rebounds off the bench for WSU.
Phaebre Colbert added 18 points on 7-of-15 shooting for Wayne State.
Kayla Bridges also notched a career-high total of eight rebounds for WSU.
