GAME STORYLINES
The Warriors hit the road for three straight games after wrapping up a six-game homestand in which WSU went 5-1.  Wayne State has won seven out of its past eight games overall. WSU is 7-2 in the GLIAC North Division and is in second place only behind 8-2 Ferris State.

SERIES HISTORY
The Warriors have lost their past eight games against Michigan Tech.  WSU's last victory against MTU was a 62-61 win in Detroit on Jan. 18, 2007.  The Warriors are 6-19 in road games and 15-35 overall against the Huskies.
    
Wayne State has lost four out of its last five games against Northern Michigan.  WSU is 8-15 in away contests and 18-28 overall versus NMU.  The Warriors last beat the Wildcats in a 59-57 win at home on Feb. 3, 2011.

LAST WEEK
The Warriors earned two consecutive GLIAC North victories, starting with a 74-60 home victory on Thursday against Northwood.
    
Wayne State out-rebounded the Timberwolves, 55-33, and had 22 offensive boards overall.
    
Talisha Bridges paced the Warriors with 20 points and freshman Brittany Streetman scored a career-high 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting (3-of-5 on three-pointers).  Phaebre Colbert also came off the bench for her fourth double-double of the season, scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
    
WSU continued its winning ways on Saturday in a 63-48 victory over Saginaw Valley.  The Warriors held SVSU to just 20.7 percent shooting in the first half, taking a 35-18 haltime lead.  The Cardinals would get no closer than eight points in the second half.
    
Talisha Bridges and Juanita Cochran each scored 15 points for Wayne State.  Bridges made it nine straight games in double figures with her scoring effort.  Imari Redfield tied a career-high with seven points and Kristen Long and Colbert also added seven points each off the bench for the Warriors.
    
The victory over Saginaw Valley was also the eighth straight contest in which WSU has out-rebounded its opponent.  The Warriors have been out-rebounded just once this season overall (vs. Ashland).

SCOUTING MICHIGAN TECH
The Huskies are 3-3 at home this season, including 2-2 against conference foes.  In its last outing, MTU fell at Grand Valley, 76-64.
    
Michigan Tech gave undefeated Ashland its closest game of the season, losing by just 10 points, 76-66, in a game played in Houghton on Jan. 5.
    
Senior guard Sam Hoyt is the lone Michigan Tech player to average in double figures, scoring 14.6 points per game.  She's made 33 triples this season and leads the Huskies in steals (23) and assists (60).
    
Freshman Kylie Moxley is second on the team in scoring, averaging 9.5 points per game, while junior guard Paige Albi leads at 6.2 rebounds per game. Senior guard Emma Veach has a 4.4 assist-to-turnover ratio (31 assists against seven turnovers).

SCOUTING NORTHERN MICHIGAN
Northern Michigan has lost four out of its last five games entering Thursday's home contest against Saginaw Valley.  
    
In its last outing, the Wildcats dropped a 47-46 heartbreaker at GLIAC North leader Ferris State.  NMU is 3-1 in home conference games and 4-2 overall in games played in Marquette.
    
Sophomores Lauren Gruber (12.4 ppg) and Alyssa Colla (10.5 ppg) are the only two NMU players to average in double figures having started all 14 games.  Gruber and Colla each have 44 assists to lead NMU.  Gruber also leads the team with 27 three-pointers, while Colla has 22 steals.
    
Freshman Nea Makela is the Wildcat leader in rebounding at 6.0 rebounds per game.
    
ON THE BENCH
Carrie Lohr is in her second season as head coach of the WSU women's basketball program.  Lohr has a 21-18 record in her Warrior coaching career.
    
Kim Cameron holds a 60-15 record in her third season as the Michigan Tech head coach.  Cameron led the Huskies to a NCAA runner-up finish in 2010-11.
    
Troy Mattson is currently in his eighth season as head coach at Northern Michigan.  He has guided the NMU women's basketball team to 93 wins in his tenure.
    
REBOUND WARRIORS
The Warriors lead the GLIAC in rebounding at 48.6 rebounds per game.  WSU also is fourth in the country in rebounding margin (+11.8).

CONFERENCE LEADERS
Individually, Talisha Bridges is eighth in the GLIAC in scoring per game, averaging 15.1 points per game.  Phaebre Colbert is 10th in the conference in rebounding, pulling down 7.5 rebounds per game.
