GAME STORYLINES
Wayne State is coming off two 13-point victories last week against contenders in the GLIAC North Division.  The Warriors have won three straight games and five of their last six overall.
    
The 10-3 start in the GLIAC by WSU is the most league wins since the 2002-03 squad that went 12-5 and was the only team in school history to make the NCAA Tournament.  
    
Only seven WSU women's basketball teams have reached the 10-win mark in league games.  The program record for league wins is 13, last achieved by the 1994-95 squad that went 13-5 in conference play.
    
The Warriors are in second in the GLIAC North Division, just a half-game behind leader Michigan Tech, who is at 11-3.

SERIES HISTORY
Wayne State has won its last four meetings with Lake Superior, including taking a 51-50 victory against the Lakers during the 2011-12 season.
    
The Warriors are 16-15 in games played in Detroit against LSSU.  The Lakers holds a 37-28 advantage overall in the series, which began in 1975.

LAST WEEK
WSU earned an 81-68 road victory at Ferris State on Jan. 24 before recording a 72-59 win at home over Grand Valley on Saturday in a televised contest.
    
Against the Bulldogs, the Warriors received a career performance from Talisha Bridges, who was 14-of-21 from the field for a career-best 31 points.  Imari Redfield and Stephanie Lock also established new career-highs in points, with 13 and nine, respectively.
    
The Warriors led 38-29 at halftime and never trailed in the ballgame.  Ferris State pulled to within five points with 2:45 remaining, but WSU used a 10-2 run to close out the game.
    
Juanita Cochran pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds and Wayne State held the rebound advantage, 55-27.  WSU shot 47.1 percent against FSU.
    
In its third straight victory, WSU jumped out to a 32-20 halftime lead against Grand Valley and never looked back.  The Warriors maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second half against GVSU, leading by as much as 23 points.
    
Talisha Bridges led a balanced scoring effort, leading four WSU double-digit scorers with 14 points.  For Bridges, it was her 13th straight game scoring in double figures.  Phaebre Colbert added 13 points off the bench and Brittany Streetman was 3-for-3 on three-pointers, tallying 11 points for WSU.  Cochran had 10 points and nine boards as well for Wayne State.
    
The Warriors converted on 6-of-8 triple tries and outrebounded GVSU, 45-31.

SCOUTING LAKE SUPERIOR
The Lakers enter their matchup against WSU on a four-game skid, all of them in Sault Ste. Marie.
    
LSSU most recently dropped a 70-58 contest against Michigan Tech.  Senior Maria Blazejewski scored 25 points in the loss for Lake Superior.
    
Blazejewski leads the Lakers in scoring per game at 17.2.  She is fourth in the GLIAC in free-throw shooting, making 88.0 percent (103-for-117).  She is also LSSU's leading rebounder at 6.7 per game.
    
Sophomore Kandace Crittendon is second on the team in scoring (10.4 ppg) and first on the squad in assists with 42.  Sophomore Taylor Greene leads LSSU in steals with 23.  Junior Raven Trammell is first on the Lakers and fourth in the GLIAC in triples made with 37.

ON THE BENCH
Carrie Lohr is in her second season as head coach of the WSU women's basketball program.  Lohr has a 24-19 record in her Warrior coaching career.
    
Shannon Eggers was named the interim head coach for LSSU in August 2012. Before being named to the helm, Eggers was a Laker assistant coach for four years.

REBOUND WARRIORS
The Warriors lead the GLIAC in rebounding at 46.8 rebounds per game.  WSU also leads the conference in offensive rebounds per game (18.9) and are 12-3 when out-rebounding its opponent.

QUICK STARTS
The Warriors are 11-0 when leading at haltime and just 1-5 when trailing at the break.  Wayne State is also 12-0 this season when holding their opponents to 70 points or less.
