GAME STORYLINES
Wayne State concludes its six-game homestand with its first taste of GLIAC North Division play. WSU went 5-2 against the GLIAC South to open its conference schedule.
    
The Warriors are in third place in the GLIAC North entering their game against NU. Overall, Wayne State has won five of its past six games and four of the last five contests at home.
    
WSU is 11-11 at home under head coach Carrie Lohr. Wayne State is also 4-3 this season at the Matthaei.

LAST WEEK
The Warriors earned a 70-66 home victory over Hillsdale on Thursday before dropping an overtime thriller to Findlay, 90-84, on Saturday.
    
In its victory over the Chargers, Phaebre Colbert came off the bench to score a team-high 19 points and pull down nine rebounds. Talisha Bridges added 15 points and 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. Brittany Streetman and Lena Thomas each connected on two triples and scored eight points apiece.
    
Talisha Bridges connected on a jumper with five seconds remaining in regulation to push Findlay to overtime, but UF outscored Wayne State 15-9 in the extra frame to end WSU's five-game winning streak.
    
Talisha Bridges scored a career-high 25 points, while Juanita Cochran notched her first double-double of the season with 17 points and 15 rebounds.  Deanna Crumpton added 15 points off the bench and Stephanie Lock pulled down eight rebounds.
    
Bridges' scoring output was the highest point total for a Warrior player this season. WSU pulled down 58 rebounds, including 28 offensive boards.

WEEKLY AWARD
Talisha Bridges was named the GLIAC North Division Player of the Week on Monday, Jan. 7. The weekly accolade is the first for a WSU player since the 2010-11 season, when Phaebre Colbert earned the award in consecutive weeks (Feb. 22-28).
    
Bridges has scored in double figures in seven straight contests and leads the Warriors at 14.6 points per game. She is third in the GLIAC in offensive boards with 44.

SCOUTING NORTHWOOD
The Timberwolves (7-7, 5-3 GLIAC) have lost three of their last four games, including dropping both games at the WSU Holiday Classic.
    
In its last contest, NU beat Ohio Dominican at home, 66-59. Freshman Lauren Robak scored a career-high 28 points against ODU, hitting 5-of-11 three pointers.
    
Senior Rachel Church leads Northwood in scoring at 12.4 points per game, but has missed the past six games due to an injury. Robak is second on the team in scoring at 11.1 points per game.
    
Sophomore Kaitlin Susan leads NU in rebounding (6.5 rpg), steals (30) and blocks (13). Sophomore Gabrielle Rivette leads Northwood in assists, dishing out 3.4 assists per game.

SCOUTING SAGINAW VALLEY
The Cardinals (5-6, 3-4 GLIAC) have played better away from home to start their season, holding a 3-2 record on the road versus a 2-4 mark at home.
    
SVSU is coming off a 63-58 victory over Hillsdale at home. Junior Kristen Greene scored 14 points to lead three Cardinals in double figures in the victory.
    
Overall this season, three players average in double figures for Saginaw Valley, led by freshman Emily Wendling, who is averaging 16.0 ppg.
    
Greene (13.3 ppg) and Samantha Zirzow (10.8 ppg) are the other Cardinals averaging in double figures. Wendling also leads the team in rebounding (8.8 rpg). Freshman Katelyn Carriere leads SVSU with 41 assists, while Greene leads the squad with 16 steals.

SERIES HISTORY
Wayne State lost its only matchup with Northwood in the 2011-12 season, falling 62-59 at home. The Warriors also have an eight-game losing streak against NU.  WSU is 15-8 at home, however, against the Timberwolves.

The Warriors have won five of their past six games against SVSU, including taking a 59-52 decision last season. WSU has won its past three at home and is 15-15 overall against Saginaw Valley in Detroit.
    
ON THE BENCH
Carrie Lohr is in her second season as head coach of the WSU women's basketball program. Lohr has a 19-18 record in her Warrior coaching career.
    
Jeff Curtis has recorded a 112-117 mark in his eighth season as the head coach at Northwood.
    
Jamie Pewinski has compiled an 11-26 record in her second year as the head coach at Saginaw Valley.

REBOUND WARRIORS
The Warriors lead the GLIAC in rebounding at 48.1 rebounds per game. WSU also pulls down the most offensive boards (19.8 per game) in the league. Wayne State's 11.0 rebounding margin over its opponents ranks No. 8 in the country in that category.
