GAME STORYLINES
The Warriors (1-1) begin their conference season at home this week with a pair of contests against GLIAC South Division opponents.  WSU opens its league slate with Tiffin (3-1) on Thursday in a game that will be televised statewide on Comcast Xfinity.  Wayne State hosts Ohio Dominican (3-1) on Saturday.

WSU is 1-1 under coach Carrie Lohr in conference home openers.  Last season, the Warriors fell 77-58 to Ashland in their conference home opener.  Overall, Wayne State is 20-11 at home and 24-17 in league contests during Lohr's tenure.

SCOUTING TIFFIN
The Dragons are 3-1 to start their season, including a 1-1 mark away from Tiffin.  TU's lone defeat was a one-point loss, 84-83, at Cedarville on Nov. 23.  The Dragons most recently beat Mercyhurst, 76-60, on Nov. 26 in a game played at Tiffin.

Tiffin has four players averaging in double figures, led by senior guard Karli Mast and freshman guard Deidre McKay, who each average 12.0 points per game.  Freshman guard Katie Miller (11.8 ppg) and freshman center Bre Nauman (10.3 ppg) also average in double digits for TU.

Nauman grabs 7.3 rebounds per game, while McKay leads the squad with 18 assists in four games.  Mast is a deep threat for the Dragons, hitting 11-of-26 three-pointers (42.3 percent) through four games.

As a team, the Dragons are shooting 46.3 from the field and 69.7 percent from the foul line.

Pam Oswald is in her seventh year as head coach at Tiffin and has accumulated a 76-90 record.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. TIFFIN
The Warriors are 6-7 all-time against the Dragons, including 1-1 under Lohr.  WSU won last season at Tiffin, 84-57, on Nov. 29, 2012.  The Warriors are 2-4 at home against Tiffin.

SCOUTING OHIO DOMINICAN
Entering Thursday's game at Saginaw Valley, the Panthers are 3-1 after four non-conference games.  ODU is 2-0 in road games after winning at Cedarville, 70-69, and also winning at Eckerd, 58-51.

Freshman forward Madi Rittinger leads ODU at 12.0 points per game, while junior guard Kacee Hockenberry is averaging 11.5 points per contest.  Sophomore forward Melissa Scherpenberg is averaging 9.0 rebounds per game.

As a team, ODU shoots 40.1 percent from the floor and 69.7 percent from the free throw line.

Lynsey Warren has a 14-16 record in her second season as the Ohio Dominican head coach.  She went 11-15 with a 7-15 GLIAC record in her first season as head coach.  She's been with the Panthers for three seasons overall.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. OHIO DOMINICAN
The Warriors are 5-0 all-time against the Panthers, including winning a 67-60 game at Ohio Dominican last season on Dec. 1, 2012.  Wayne State is 2-0 at home and 2-0 under Lohr against ODU.  The Warriors have reached the 70-point plateau four of the five times the two teams have met.

LAST TIME OUT
Wayne State dropped its first game of the season in a 102-72 setback at Indianapolis.  The Greyhounds shot 50 percent (11-for-22) from beyond the arc and only turned the ball over seven times during the game.

The game was tied at 20, 25 and 26 before WSU took its final lead at 27-26 on a pair of free throws by Shareta Brown. Indianapolis closed out the final six minutes before intermission with a 25-6 run for a 51-33 advantage at halftime, which included five triples - three by Kelly Walter and two from Shelby Wall.

Another conventional three-point play by Brown five minutes into the second half cut the Warrior deficit to 14 (55-41), but over the next 6:30 Indianapolis extended its lead with a 19-11 scoring edge.

Brown led Wayne State with 23 points to pace three Warriors in double figures. Imari Redfield and Destiny Lavita-Stephens each added 11 points with Redfield grabbing a team-best eight rebounds.

Indianapolis shot 54.0 percent from the floor and connected on 23 of 27 free throws.  The Warriors were 44.6 percent shooting from the field, while connecting on 16 of 21 shots from the charity stripe.

COACH LOHR
Carrie Lohr, who was named the 12th head coach in the history of women's basketball at WSU on May 11, 2011, is in her third season guiding the Warrior program.  She was voted the 2012-13 GLIAC Coach of the Year by her peers after leading Wayne State to a share of the GLIAC North Division regular-season title, the first for the WSU women's basketball program since the 1980-81 season.  Lohr also guided the Warriors to their first NCAA tournament victory (63-58 over Findlay) as well as the school's inaugural appearance in the NCAA Regional Championship game.

She recorded her 200th collegiate coaching victory on March 16, 2013, with WSU's 70-60 triumph over Wisconsin-Parkside in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.  BCAM selected Lohr as the 2012-13 Women's College Coach of the Year.  In her inaugural season with the Warriors, Lohr led a young squad (only one senior) to 12 victories, the most wins by WSU in four years, and the second-most triumphs in the last eight seasons.

2012-13 RECAP
The Warriors won a share of the GLIAC North Division title, advanced to the GLIAC tournament semifinals for the second time in school history and secured an NCAA tournament berth for the second time in program history.  WSU won its first two ever NCAA tournament contests and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen before falling at eventual national champion Ashland, 72-63, in a game which WSU led 61-60 with 4:34 remaining.

Last season, the Warriors went 22-9 overall and 17-5 in GLIAC play while winning a share of the GLIAC North Division title. The 22 wins were one shy of the program record achieved in 1980-81 while the 17 conference wins were the most all-time.
