DETROIT --
Wayne State University women's basketball concluded its inaugural Elite Post Camp this past weekend. The two-day clinic focused on post play and used professional instruction from highly knowledgeable camp clinicians. At WSU, the goal is to help develop post players with the needed skill-set to dominate the game on both ends of the floor.

"The girls Elite Post Camp was a huge success," stated head women's basketball coach Carrie Lohr. "We had tremendous support from the community high school coaches, alumni and young student-athletes. We are looking forward to this becoming an annual event."

The camp featured some impressive camp instructors. Darrin McAllister joined the Wayne State University women's basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2011. Working significantly with the Warrior post players, he assisted Juanita Cochran in earning Second Team All-GLIAC, GLIAC All-Tournament and NCAA Midwest All-Regional accolades in 2013. During the 2012-13 season, McAllister helped guide the Warriors to the second-most wins in a season (22) as well as the first two NCAA tournament wins in program history. The squad tied for the GLIAC North Division title with a 17-5 league record, the first conference crown of any type since the 1980-81 campaign.

Luke Lloyd played his high school career at Flint Southwestern Academy. Luke then earned a Division I scholarship to attend Morehead State in the great state of Kentucky. In his final year of college Luke transferred to Campbellsville University.

After college, Luke had an opportunity to continue playing basketball professionally playing in Finland, Germany, Mexico, Austria, Switzerland, and England over a seven-year span. In 2008, Coach Luke founded Complete Player, a basketball training service. He began developing players, teaching them the fundamentals. The program has helped players of all ages reach their potential giving them the confidence to be great. He is also the inventor of the Dribble Stick the training device used in all Complete Player Programs.

Gerrit Brigitha is a basketball trainer who brings experience from both the collegiate and professional levels. Gerrit played four years at Central Michigan and went on to play six seasons professionally in Europe. He played in Spain, Italy, Finland, Hungary, Netherlands and Switzerland. Brigitha was selected to play for the Netherlands National Team in 2007 and 2009.

Originally from Farmington Hills, Mich., Joe McElroy has eight years of coaching experience in personal basketball training and camps. Working with the Detroit Pistons Camps and Clinics, Ann Arbor YMCA and the Orlando Magic Youth Hoops program.
