HILLSDALE, Mich. - The Wayne State University men's basketball team trailed by 11 with 5:45 left and cut the deficit to two on three occasions but could never get the tying basket in falling 69-67 at Hillsdale College Thursday evening.
WSU falls to 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the GLIAC, while Hillsdale improves to 8-3 overall and4-3 in the conference.
Trailing 60-49 with just under six minutes left, the Warriors rattled off seven consecutive points to make it a four-point game. After a pair of

Bryan Coleman netted five straight points, then Coleman answered a Charger hoop with a jumper making it 62-58 Hillsdale with 2:37 remaining.
Chene Phillips responded to a Charger triple with one of his own reducing the margin to four (65-61) with 1:48 left.
A Wayne State foul extended the HC possession, and after a missed shot, Phillips scored with 50.2 remaining making it a two-point game at 65-63.
Hillsdale's Brandon Pritzl made both ends of a one-and-one with 16.7 left prior to Williams-Taylor sinking two foul shots with 10.3 on the clock.
Pritzl again made both ends of a one-and-one with 8.9 remaining, but Phillips scored an uncontested lay-up with 4.4 left.
Clark Bishop stole the in-bounds pass near mid-court but Phillips buzzer beater was well short.
Coleman, after being limited two points and two fouls in the first half, recorded 20 second half points. Phillips finished with 21 points and a team-best three assists.
Hillsdale's Tim Dezelski tallied a game-high 27 points.
Wayne State continues its road trip with a Saturday contest at Findlay.
